Yes, there is a countdown

This blog is about to be relaunched ... or more correctly, ramped up to what had been intended when I set it up fourish years ago. Friends may disagree, but I'm not one to editorialise, so this blog will be a digest of some interesting bits happening in the Australian book and publishing scene. It will start out humbly, but hopefully will grow, as time and resources permit, into yet another comprehensive resource of materials to fan the lusty fire of Australian letters.

In surveying the field, it is warming to notice how generous our writers and the publishing industry in general are in sharing their experiences and advice. Hopefully, this blog will follow in that tradition.
There are a couple of Facebook pages associated with this blog and one other shares this blog's name: The Tarnished Pilgrim. That page is a simple digest of interesting writer resources found on FB (plus a bit of fun occasionally). The other is my personal page (facebook/bradley.wynne.58
) but there it is unlikely you will find the droids you are looking for.

A better option is: bradlewywynne.com.

This blog's title? Taken from a fantasy novel of the same name that I wrote yonks ago and am about to exhume from my bottom drawer, if I can find the key. Watch this space for more details of what to expect on this page. Not being  a terribly wise chap (more in the apprentice wizen stage, I think), a quote from the prologue of Henry V (cue Derek Jacobi in the role of Chorus):

But pardon, and gentles all,
The flat unraised spirits that have dared
On this unworthy scaffold to bring forth
So great an object: can this cockpit hold
The vasty fields of France? or may we cram
Within this wooden O the very casques
That did affright the air at Agincourt?

I really must learn to stop moving my lips when I read those words ...
